About
The TrishSaab Blog
Welcome to my corner of the internet, where we celebrate the stories, traditions, and heritage that shape Punjabi culture! This is more than just a blog - it's a bridge connecting the richness of our past with the vibrancy of the present, created for a global audience.
As one of the few voices in the Punjabi heritage and lifestyle niche, I am dedicated to telling and retelling the stories of our past while documenting the present as it unfolds - immortalising the essence of Punjabi heritage in the digital world.
Being from Punjab myself, everything I know has been shaped by this heritage, and heavily influenced by the lessons and stories of the past. I am eternally grateful that you’ve taken the time to share these stories, and welcome you into my world.
Warmly, TrishSaab
The Motive
It’s never easy to teach yourself something from the very beginning. It’s even harder when you have a very niche interest.
Stories. Hearsay. Word of mouth.
Your interest will drive your passion. Books are lengthy. Articles - complex. Opinions vary amongst people.
TrishSaab read it all. Asked every person. Searched the World Wide Web. Collated it. Blogged it.
A website she refers to before anyone else. A place with no technical terms. Where each article is explained to the last detail.
The story behind the name
Circa 2012. A joke between 4 cousins - Trish, Sarah, Jacob, and George - code names covering their real identities to see who’d go the most unnoticed.
Fast forward 2018. Adding the suffix “Saab” - a Punjabi term used to honour elders, respected individuals, or show politeness. The beginning of TrishSaab - the only nickname that survived the past five years.
Sometime in 2021. A private Instagram account with TrishSaab and her closest friends is born.
2024. With a little free time and just enough passion, the TrishSaabBlog shares all the things not enough people talk about. The beauty behind the Punjabi heritage, and a little bit about lifestyle.
My Favourites
and why they stand out
Gujranwala
My greatest inspiration - the city Gujranwala. A place that symbolises the Punjabi strength, and tradition. It is not just a city to read about or visit, it is the home of the Punjabi heart.
Its air is thick with authenticity - a blend of raw energy, cultural pride, and historical depth that isn't found anywhere else.
Sawan
The Punjabi month of Sawan - yet to debut in an upcoming series, it brings the monsoon rains to Punjab. The very rains which carry life to fields of every farmer. The rains which bring the promise of stability to rural villages. Sawan is a time when the Punjabi fields breathe, replenish, and prepare to carry on a centuries old farming cycle - the very thing that keeps Punjab alive.
The Sukerchakia Misl
The Sukerchakia Misl - a confederacy strong enough to bring an empire to life. The vision and valour of the Sukerchakia Misl (notably Ranjeet Singh) established the modern Punjab.
